About Us

Established in 1989, Southern Exposure celebrated 25 years of serving the community in 2014. Currently located on the corner of 9th and Main Streets in the heart of downtown Hopkinsville, the studio's storefront windows showcase photography created by owner Tony Kirves whose portraits feature families, children, weddings and seniors as well as commercial subjects.

Recognized for his work by the Professional Photographers of America and the Kentucky Photographers Association, Tony has been a professional photographer for more than 25 years. He was awarded the Kodak Gallery Award, Fuji Masterpiece Award, Top Five Photographers of the Year Award, and nearly a dozen other blue ribbons. Before opening his own studio in Hopkinsville, Tony was a photographer at the Kentucky New Era, Saginaw (Michigan) News, Muskegon (Michigan) Chronicle, and Evansville Sunday Courier & Press. He is a past president of the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association and a graduate of Leadership Hopkinsville. Tony earned his bachelor's degree in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University.
